For seniors over 65 in the United States, government funded Medicare proves health coverage to a certain extent. Generally, those in assisted living facilities pay for their care because the facilities do not meet the Medicare requirements.
After certain economic guidelines are met, nursing home care is provided. Elsewhere in the world, for example, the United Kingdom, free nursing home care is provided for all from the time they are admitted.
